Baseball Camp in Whitefish, Montana

Musician. Songwriter. Entertainer. Funny man. Pancake maker. Lawn mower. John Dunnigan is all of these and more - including a baseball fan. John has been a baseball coach for many years, and baseball season is right around the corner. Tomorrow John will be joined on the Big Fish by Josh Fields and Jarod Grubb. Josh Fields is a player for the Chicago White Sox, and Jarod Grubb is the head coach for the Glacier Twins AA team, and also an associate scout for the Boston Red Sox. They will be discussing the upcoming Baseball Camp in Kalispell, Montana. It will be held at the Kalispell Athletic Club Tennis Bubble in Kalispell, Montana. The camp will focus on hitting, pitching, and fielding instruction.
Ages 10 - 12
Registration Time: Saturday, February 24th @ 9 AM
Camp Time: Saturday, February 24th from 9:30 to 12:30
Sunday, February 25th from 9:30 to 12:30
Cost: $50/player

A Special Edition of Where in the World is Jack Hanna?

Due to some cell phone complications, Jack Hanna was not able to phone in on Friday to update his status. (See the story here) Jack will be on the air TWICE this week, on Wednesday morning and then also on the regularly scheduled Friday show.
In Whitefish news, the Whitefish City Council Planning Board has approved a revised development plan for the Big Mountain Village. Walt Chauner will be discussing the approval and what it means for the future of Big Mountain on the Big Mountain show. The show airs this Friday and every Friday at 1 PM on the Big Fish, WhitefishRadio.com.

On Thursday John Dunnigan will be joined in the studio at 10 o'clock by Jay DiPaola. Jay is a local musician and artist, and also the host of Tuesday Night Open Microphone Night at the Great Northern in downtown Whitefish. John will be giving the local entertainment update, talk about who's playing and where, and John and Jay will be performing live in the studio. The John Dunnigan show airs from 10-Noon every Thursday on WhitefishRadio.com.
- The 2007 Girls State A Divisonal Basketball Tournament will be held on February 15 - 17 in Eureka, Montana. Good luck to the lady Dogs!
- The PTA is planning their 1st annual Golf tournament and they need help! The tournament does not yet have a name, so the PTA is taking suggestions from all students. A suggestion box is located at the front office and the PTA would like any WHS student to drop off suggestions for a tournament name. Boxes will be picked up on Feb 16th.
- Calling All Hockey Fans! The Glacier Avalanche will be playing Cranbrook at home on Friday night at 9 PM. Admission is free! Get out there and support your local athletes!

We Have Power!
The 2007 Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Dinner and Auction Fundraiser was held on Saturday night, raising over $100,000 - that is the most of any other Elk Foundation in the United States. Ross Strauser, owner of the Big Fish, was the MC for the event, held at the Outlaw Inn Grand Ballroom in Kalisell, Montana.
Tomorrow Carol Blake and Carla Herrmann will be in the studio with Ross Strauser representing North Valley Hospital. The hospital has been under construction for the past several months and will be opening very soon.

Ski Races and Hospital Openings

Like seeing skiers travel at 75 mph and launch as far as 100 feet? Check out the 59th Annual Doug & Rollie Smith Memorial Downhill races on the Big Mountain in Whitefish, Montana. This race - the longest, continually held downhill race in the country - is known as one of the most challenging downhill courses in North America. It is going on through next Thursday.

Whitefish Winter Carnival Continues...
"MOVIE STARS ON ICE"
Walt Chauner will be broadcasting the Big Mountain Show on Friday at 1 PM, on the Big Fish.
February 10th, 7pm at Stumptown Ice Den - Ice Skating Extravaganza "Movie Stars on Ice" , starring national champion Nick LaRoche, and local Whitefish Figure Skating Club ice skaters of all ages. Tickets available at Imagination Station in Whitefish and Kalispell.
"VALENTINE'S DAY KIDZ PARTY"
The Stumptown Art Studio is hosting a Valentine's Day Kidz Party for all kids ages 7 to 13. Have fun mkaing valentines and other artsy projects while eating lots of candy and goodies. Parents need to call ahead to reserve a spot, and a $15 pre-payment is required. Check out

The Big Fish at the Penguin Plunge
Special Thanks to Curt McIntyre, Todd Hammer, and Dana Jefferies for representing WhitefishRadio.com at the Annual Penguin Plunge. The Plunge is one of the Special Olympics's Largest Fundraisers. The Big Fish was all over Whitefish this weekend during the Winter Carnival. Park Side Federal Credit Union sponsored the remote from their bank, and we even put a float in the parade! The Carnival was very successful, and Whitefish Radio hopes to be an even bigger part of it next year! Stay tuned for updates at the Big Fish, your hometown radio station!
